Get to know:
Hi, I'm Cindy, 21 years old, a proud mother and the Nails Trainer at Teenage Mums Empowerment.
I'm passionate about empowering women through my skills, helping them feel confident and beautiful.
I love reading books as they allow me to escape into different worlds, and I'm always eager to explore new places through travel, which inspires me to learn more and grow.
I truly believe in the power of self-care, and that's why I'm dedicated to teaching others how to care for themselves.
One of my favorite quotes is: "You are stronger than you think." It's a reminder to always push forward, no matter the challenge. I'm also a big fan of music, and my go-to song is Majority by Moses Bliss — it always lifts my mood! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and discovering new experiences. I'm thrilled to be part of this!

After one month of class, our girls introduced themselves to the neighbourhood.
Together with partners from Dandora, the Maono Africa Community Center, MsF, Car Wash Munish, Mathe’s Restaurant and Samy’s DJ Mix, we spent a day outside sharing moments of joy and kindness. We were especially delighted by the support shown by our chief guest of honor, the superior chief Rumo. His words of encouragement that being pregnant at a young age does not mean you have no future. “I’ve finally felt part of the community again, and not excluded” one of our participants summarized the day.
International Women’s day:
Grace aka the Barber Queen inspired us with her story on international Women’s day. Not only does she work in a completely male dominated field, she even owns her own barber shop in CBD and continues supporting the underprivileged by shaving homeless people in the streets of Nairobi every Wednesday. “By showing up for yourself and your goals, everything is possible” reminded Grace who herself also had a child with 17 years.

Invitation to Ridgeways Baptist Church:
The founder Njeri Kabiru was invited to share her journey during the 37 years anniversary celebrations of Ridgeways Baptist Church. The teen moms as well as the team of teenage mums empowerment were welcomed warmly; “May God thunder also in your life to rain away the sinister forces and to erect the stone of Ebenezer” the pastor preached.
